The Finding Series
A series of images tracing the roots of US culture through photography - as a Californian that relocated to the Northeast and now, the Southeast United States. These images reflect all aspects of the past, present and future through my eyes, interpreted through the essence of other, more famous photographers.
The first (titled "Finding Dorothea") was sparked by American documentary photographer & photojournalist Dorothea Lange's time in North Carolina (and beyond) during the "Dust Bowl Era" for the US Farm Security Administration (FSA).
Also included are styles reminiscent of Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Mary Ellen Mar, Diane Arbus, Edward Weston, Bill Brandt, August Sander, W Eugene Smith, Cindy Sherman, Walker Evans and more.
